Certificates of Analysis - Passing Grades!

SLGA, our governing authority for the sale of beverage alcohol in Saskatchewan, has mandated that we send several of our wines for analytic testing. This analysis is done through LCBO Analytic Laboratory in Ontario as part of SLGA’s Quality Assurance Policy, which guarantees the customer that the wine they are about to consume is safe to drink, and adheres to the Quality Control measures as outlined in the QA Manual for commercial craft wineries in SK.

We are very pleased to announce that our Haskap, Rhubarb and Black Currant wines passed all Quality Control assessments!

What assessments are done?

Primarily, wine QC involves chemical analysis to verify alcohol content (alc/vol), and ensure that all markers of a drinkable wine are adhered to, including agricultural chemical limits, formation of volatile acidity (aka vinegar or ‘turned’ wine), limits on various chemical constituents such as sorbic acid and ethyl carbamate, as well as assessment of safety.

Passing the COAs means we are one step closer to releasing wines for your pleasure, with the knowledge that we can do so safely and with the assurance that we have the laboratory backing to support our sales.
